My wife and I booked an excursion with our group o. Sunday afternoon for Monday morning. My wife is a type 1 diabetic, and Sunday morning her sugar bottomed out. At check out, I went to see if it was possible to pay the cancellation fee of 5. I was told that we needed medical documentation of an emergency for any such refund. I found the assistance there to be lacking, as was the manner in which we were told that theres nothing to do. I think itd be wise to establish some kind of situation for early morning excursions where cant legitimately cancel 4 8 hrs ahead of time. My husband and I stayed for our Honeymoon at the Silversands for 7 nights. We had an amazing time and the service was absolutely incredible. The staff was wonderful and was always so excited to assist with activities and really made the vacation one to remember. Put on a robe in room provided by resort and a scorpion crawled out of my robe, terrifying me The day before, after only several drinks I dont remember what happened. However, I passed out vomiting and lost complete control over my body functions and was not able to even speak what I hat was happening and unable to feel anything. It is believed the scorpion in the room stung me, most likely during this time, and by the following evening I needed medical treatment for the sting as it became swollen, painful, and began to ooze. Medications had to be delivered to be directly by a pharmacy and all is documented by the resort. There were also hundreds of bugs in the walkway outside of our room that were fumigated and they were found in our room closet as well and we have pictures to show this documentation. Got to resort took a while to check in. We knew wouldnt be ready cuz got there late morning. Asked if we wanted to upgrade for said no. When we went back to see if room ready she said yes and we upgraded you for free. She didnt say what they upgraded us too. Room look just like room we booked online so thought she didnt upgrade us why lie to us. Next to last day they called that we didnt come and get our 2. So I went up to get them thought we could maybe use some this last day at resort. Guy there said Im sorry but you are in the Preferred Club you have to go to other building and get your coupons and stuff there. I told them how unhappy I was that I wasnt told about this upgrade at check so we could have taken advantage of all the things that were offered to us in the upgrade. We did go next door to Breathless that night for dinner with the upgrade. But not happy at all about this matter. I think you also need to offer more activities like some crafts not the same thing over and over. Need more nightly entertainment. Was not happy with all the rocks in the water I love to swim and body surf and couldnt do that. Also takes to long to get a drink around other pools and on the beach. Our recent stay at Secrets Silversands Resort in Riviera Maya was EXCELLENT Rooms could use a little updating, but they were large, clean, comfortable and well worth the money to upgrade to full ocean view. You will be in a central location which is good too. Restaurants were excellent, bbqs by the pool were excellent, pools were nice and clean and plenty of chairs. Beach is small, but cozy. Download Kiss The Water Movies there. Not overcrowded because of so many pools. LOTS of entertainment. Staff clearly love their jobs Waiter, Jonathan in mexican restaurant made our dining experience outstanding. Anna Banana in charge of entertainment went above and beyond. Really put herself out there everyone knew her. Service was outstanding I would definitely LOVE to return to this resort without any hesitation. I read reviews that if it rains watch out for bugs. I didnt see one bug. We were able to go back and forth to both the beach and pools which was enjoyable. The beach is rocky if you wanna swim in it. Saw people snorkeling. Bring water shoes if you want to go in the ocean. They pride theirselves in authentic mexican food, so that was delicious Facility and entertainment is set up so that you are ease interacting with other guests. We met a lot of nice people. Enjoyed that it was adults only as well. Loved the cleanliness, size and temperature of the pools. Dress code IS enforced. Guys cant get away with wearing shorts to dinner. Bands, shows, even big screen movies by the pool. You will NOT be bored. Moonlight strolls are nice too. Worth every minute waking up early to catch sunrise. Beautiful and peaceful. My husband enjoyed the work out place as well. Elevators too. We were on the 4th floor top and it was very cool in the room Loved it. Bed and 2 chairs on balcony. No backs on the chairs which would have been better. Highly recommend. You wont be disappointed. Only negative is they probably need to upgrade decor just a bit, having been to other places. Also, the constant trying to sell us liquor and bottles of wine everywhere. They approached us at restaurants and at bars and by the pool.
